09/07/06 Combined Bands Performance Truly A Band Reunion Friday- September 22nd
As most of you know, Yuba City now has two high schools. Along with
the change in band students, our beloved band has a new band director. Some of
you will recognize her as a former YCHS Drum Major and some may know her
from the Yuba College Symphonic Band and some as a member of the USC Band. I
hope you all take the time to welcome one of our own,
Miss Jennifer Campen to the position of Band Director at both the high
school and at Andros Karperos Middle School. Jennifer
has shown herself to be a strong supporter of our Alumni Band and is hoping
all of us will return to perform during a half time performance on September
22nd. Along with the Alumni Band members she has also invited the Yuba College
Band and local middle school band members to join in the festivities.
Those of us other than the high school band members will not be expected to march but will be gathered on the sidelines in a manner allowing us to once again play for our alma mater. I truly hope that all of our former music teachers have the time to join us one more time and I look forward to seeing some of those faces that are only able to play with us on rare occasions. I will be contacting Mr. Wells, Mr. Morrisey, Mr. Estabrook, Mr. Soares and Mr. Holmes and Mr. Mathews and hopefully they will have time to join us on such short notice.
The music will be from a middle school - high school level and
should be available for all wanting to practice prior to the rehearsals and
the performance. I need to hear from all of you wanting to take part and
needing music. Email me or call me but please try to take part. I really would
like to see all of us together again and I know Jennifer would really
appreciate our help in developing a stronger music program in our Yuba City
School system.

All practices to be held at the YCHS Band Room. Please try to join

and if you can only be here for the performance due to distance or job
