Loving someone more

isn't betraying the love before

each new love in life

is a reflection of inner growth

when we love, we risk the pain

if heartache follows 

we either die

or grow

for the next time we love

we risk more pain

for as each new love is greater

each heartache is to

so a new love doesn't 

betray the old love

the new love is the reward

for the pain that came before.
