No day ever tasted sweeter,
in all the ones before,
because I now know better,
and see so much more,

the things I took for granted
now are presents very sweet,
I see richness in simplicity
adversity is trampled 'neath my feet.

I've reach the top of the mountain,
I've never been to it before,
I fought for what I wanted
I was given so much more.

I wouldn't say it's a victory,
for I've so much further to go,
it's more like a prize because
the journey has taught me to know,

If I don't celebrate this day,
how will I know in the next,
the treasures so rare, and 
beyond compare, a variety so complex.
