Have you ever loved two people
that didn't get along,
when you were with one,
the other didn't belong?

Have you ever cried to 
sleep at night hoping that they would,
find a way to get together,
and knowing that they should?

Have you wondered what the reason is,
why it will never be,
that they care for one another,
that they both come to see,

One night as you cry to sleep,
some else will to,
thinking all the while,
wishing he'd thought of what to do.

That would have taken the pain away
from days so long gone by,
to him it now seems silly,
that it didn't matter why.
