What do we have to offer,
in this crazy mixed up world,
but for lack of anything,
we still have our word.

Keeping it will let you
sleep almost anywhere,
never letting friends down,
it's a way to show you care.

Letting people count on you
makes you worth more than gold,
no matter if your very young,
or very, very old.

Once my dad said to me
"A person's only as good as their word",
Well, you know what dad?
That no longer sounds absurd!
