Oh Pretty One!
Hey little pretty girl,
what are you doing?
Look at your actions
they'll bring you to ruin.
Don't be swayed by
a young mans charms,
or loose your head
thinking of his arms.
Hold on steadfastly
to any thing that can
get your mind,
off this man,
anything that will
help you to see
the worth of your soul
so chillingly free.
Love doesn't require
that you loose your head
and willingly go
to where you are lead.
It's supportive and giving,
and leaves you to grow,
not disruptive and churning,
with nothing to show,
but all you can give up
in it's name,
no my pretty,
love isn't that vain.
Don't let your young years
be so mislead
that you have to prove
your worth in a bed.
Instead turn it around
put the ball in his court,
see if he'll make
wooing you a great sport.
See if he fits into
your world well,
if your loved ones see him,
as he is you can tell.
Don't let your emotions
turn you around,
to a place where you'll land
and never be found,
again so young,
so pretty, so fair,
those years will pass you,
and never be there,
to comfort and keep you
long into the night,
after your love
has faded from sight.
