Maybe there has been a day
when you thought love had gone away,
that something someone had done,
stopped you two from being one,

that you could never go back to,
loving in the the way you knew,
that everything had been destroyed,
and little things had you annoyed,

You couldn't see how you ever had,
a love now that you've gotten mad,
but I'll tell you don't be surprised
when the day comes that you've surmised

That love you had from long ago,
is the love that you still really know,
that even though your life's gone on,
you will know that love as it had begun.
