Promises made from hearts so true

One goes away, one stays behind
though you can't tell them apart
when two that were one become two again,
It makes quite a blow to the heart,

It's love that once lived inside them
that gets bruised, tossed and burned,
as it looks for a place to settle,
usually in the one that was spurned.
