Here are the details about how to work on each skill

Note: Most of these skills have been locked from newbie "visitor" avatars.  Meaning visitors won't be able to level up some of skills.

Leadership Experience
Event Host:
This can be accomplished by simply going to populated places like Karuna Plaza or Zephyr, and placing an activity sign at the common spawn point of these areas where a LOT of avatar traffic will be, or near/between different conversations groups you'll see.  Since there is a lot of traffic in these areas, you'll level up quickly.  You can also post these signs when you're already in conversations by simply clicking "List Conversation " on the button on your avatar.   You can work on three skills at once doing this.

Once you've become an event host, you can access the Leadership Store from Shop Central where you can buy signs and awards.  To further your event host skill, you should set up events for parties, races, classes, etc. at fun zones, homes, clubhouses, and at bar rooms.  Better yet rent your own zone, to set up events.

Club Leader:
First you need to be a member before you can create your own clubs (or Groups as they are called now, but the skill is still called CLUB Leader). All you need to do is start a club, invite six of your friends, and have them join.  As soon as the sixth avatar joins your club you'll be a casual club leader. When you start removing people from your club, or people quit your club, you'll become a lapsed club leader after the fourth member leaves.  To really gain experience as a club leader is to hold events that involve your club.  Setting your club as co-hosts is the best way, and it gives your club members the power to decorate at the zone the event is held at.  Also having people post in your "club" forums helps gain experience.  Getting a clubhouse and host events in it will REALLY gain you a lot of club leader experience.  Basically anything involving your club(s) will work towards this skill.

Teacher:
Simply host a "class" event. Technically it doesn't matter what you do there, you can call any event a "class" and have it end up as a party, though I DO believe you have to be present for the entire length of the event. Takes about 30 minutes to hit casual assuming people show up for your event.  It seems to be depend on how many people join your class event, and how long they stay. Common class events are like dog training, how to do hoverboard tricks, simple stuff that newbies might need to learn.

Newbie Helper:
If you participate with a newbie as he/she levels up in their skills, you'll gain newbie helper experience.  For instance, if you engage in a chatting conversation with a newbie or a group of them, and they level to casual socializer, you too will gain newbie helper experience, since you were there as they gained the experience to leveled up.  Holding events where newbies attend will gain you a lot of newbie helper experience.  Even just posting an event flag (List Activity) helps as newbies pass by.

Loaning vehicles (hoverboard, buggy, hoverpack, bike, boat) to someone who has no skills with them, and they gain casual/avid level using your vehicle you will gain newbie helper skill experience. Loaning paintguns also helps, as well as giving them clothes, therebucks, and other stuff.

Social & Creative Experience
Author:
Purchase a book or a scroll and write something in it, and drop it in world.  You can use those cheap books that only have a single copy for T$199.  Or use the Official Trophy you may have gotten from leveling up to casual in Event Host.  Once enough different people have read your document, you'll level of Casual.  The trick where you could skill up by repeatedly click the refresh button no longer works.  You'll have to have different people reading your documents.

Fashionista: (Fash-on-ie-stah)
Start acquiring clothing, and create a wardrobe. Trading clothing with others, and changing between different outfits will gain you experience for this skill.  Also attending fashion events is also another big factor at leveling up. Many people will be willing to give you used old clothing if you're a newbie wearing the newbie outfit (white t-shirt, and khakis pants).  You can also buy some cheap clothing from Shop Central, and from the Auctions.

You can also use the "try it" feature in auctions to build a wardrobe fast, and skill up by just clicking the "try it" button about 10 times for the same article of clothing.  But since these clothes only last 2 minutes, they will disappear from your wardrobe, and you'll end up becoming a lapsed Fashionista.  However you'll still have your casual level up reward.  Plus you're limited on how many "try it" rentals you can have in a 24 hour period.  This also includes rentals from Try-it machines, and try-it's from shop central.

Socializer:
To gain experience for this skill is to simply chat with people.  Attend events that are social events that have large attendances, at places like Bali Hai, Inferno Room, Explorer Club, etc.  Keep in mind that only bubble text chat works towards this skill.  Instant messages (IMs), and voice chat do not gain you any socializer experience.  Holding and drinking drinks helps boost socializer experience as well while you're chatting in a group.  However don't be a jerk towards people.  It is a known fact that getting ignores does effect your socializer skill negatively, but mostly when you get many in a short time.  If you get one ignore over a entire month, it won't effect you hardly at all.

Dog Handler:
Play with dogs for a while and you'll level up.  Feed then doggy treats, pet them, or give them commands. Also if you own a dog, using the "send" command will command your dog to trot over to the avatar you sent it too, and bark at them wanting attention from them.  Doing this also works towards newbie helper skill since if they start interacting with your dogs, they will level up in Dog Handler thus you gain experience towards newbie helper.  If you play with a group of dogs the more experience you'll get in this skill, and the dogs do not need to be dogs owned by you.

Merchant:
This is someone who has made good sales in auctions. I'm not really sure how many sales you have to make, but it seems to be about 10 auction sales to become casual. Auctions can be items created by your self from the developers program, or items in your inventory.

Boat Captain:
This is a skill when piloting a hoverboat.  The more people you have on board the quicker you'll level up in this skill, but you can still level up in boat captain even if you don't have anyone on board, and use the "idle method."  The perfect use for a hoverboat is for giving tours around the islands.  If you know your way around the islands well enough you could give tours to folks who don't know their way around. Remember only the driver of the boat will gain this experience, the passengers will only gain socializer experience. (which is why this skill is listed under this section, since it's part soclizer)

Card Player:
Play a game of spades for about 30 minutes.  It seems the act of playing a card gains you skill experience, since you'll usually level up as you place a card after your turn is over.  It doesn't matter if you win the trick, or if your team is winning or losing.  Holding events as "Card Game" also help gain experience for this skill.  You will not gain experience just sitting at the card table idle.  Usually after a few hands you'll get your first level to casual.

Sport Experience
Board Rider:

Just get a hoverboard, and have fun. You gain experience by either going around doing hoverboard tricks, or entering race tracks and doing laps.  You don't need to join a race; in fact I'd advice against joining races if you new to hoverboards (or any vehicle), unless it's an un-rated race so you don't lose any rating points. However it seems quicker to level up by doing tricks than it is with anything else.

You can also use the "idle method" where you simply just sit in your vehicle and do nothing.  This,  ironically gains you experience.  But from keeping you sitting in your vehicle all day, you'll need to periodically jump off your board every 30 mins or the system will stop recording skill experience.  Unless you wipe out often enough already when doing tricks.  To reach skill past novice, you should run laps at trace tracks, join races to gain rating points, join and participate in hoverboard related clubs, or use the idle method.

Buggy Driver:
There is basically one way experience in Buggy Driver; the "idle method."  Like mentioned before for hoverboard is a simple yet boring thing to do.   You will level up if you're actually driving, but I haven't seen any evidence if it gains any more experience that just sitting in it.  So if you get kina bored of driving, and you wanna take a break, just sit idle in it for 30 mins, and get off. To reach skill past novice, you should join races to gain rating points, join and participate in buggy related clubs, and buggy events. Having a passenger shotgun also helps with socializer skill, but the passenger won't gain buggy driver experience.

Sharpshooter:
This skill is simply shooting paintguns at other avatars. This is one skill you might loose money on, because paintguns only come with 5 paint balls of ammo when you first buy them and you'll have to pay to fully reload the paintgun.  So, you might want to try to find someone willing to loan you a fully loaded paintgun, and find a willing avatar you can shoot at.  Or you can simply return the gun after you shoot the 5 rounds it comes with, and buy another one, then repeat but can get a little monotonous, and slow.  It takes about 120 shots to reach neophyte by shooting at another avatar that doesn't have his force field on.   Shooting at a paintball target will not help you gain sharpshooter experience, so don't waste your ammo on those.   To level up higher you should participate at paintgun fun zones and join paintgun related clubs, and participate at any paintgun event.

Bike Rider:
Ride around on a hoverbike, for about an hour. Like nearly all other vehicle shills, the best way to do this skill, especially of you're lazy, is to do the idle method.  The idle method is simply sitting on the vehicle, and do nothing.  This is perfect when you need to go to bed, and just let your avatar sit on the bike overnight.  But it's a quicker to skill up if you find a funzone with a race track and run laps, or join races.  You can do tricks on a bike, however it's very sluggish to do, and there's no way to tell if you're pulling off a successful trick that will go towards your skill experience.

Pack Flyer:
Fly around in a hoverpack or flutter bug. The best way to do this skill is do the idle method.  There are also hoverpack race courses you can try out if you can find any, but most any race course should work. Like other vehicle skills you must get off the hoverpack to get the skill up message.  To reach skill past novice, you should run laps at trace tracks, join races to gain rating points, join and participate in hoverpack related clubs.

For more info on how to use these vehicles, check the vehicles page.
