The Venerable Bhakha Tulku Rinpoche has moved to Santa Barbara to establish a Tibetan Buddhist meditation center through his non-profit organization Vairotsana Foundation. Rinpoche's motivation is to offer his meditative experience and training in Buddhist philosophy and mindfulness training to as many members of our community as possible, including children and teens. Rinpoche is fluent in English and his simple style and open, friendly nature make it possible for all to feel readily at ease with him. One of Rinpoche's primary interests is living mindfully, so as to not disturb, pollute or endanger the environment. Bhakha Rinpoche is a self-taught accomplished flutist. Rinpoche expresses his prayer and meditation through his artful sculpting and carving of mantras on stones and rocks.
Everyone is invited to receive free training in traditional Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and meditation practice. Vairotsana Foundation is dedicated to the preservation and teaching of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and meditation practice. The Foundation also sponsors the translation of ancient Buddhist texts and prayers from the Nyingma tradition of Vajrayana Buddhism. Vairotsana Foundation has three Tibetan meditation teachers on staff who teach, translate, and lead meditation practices under the guidance of Bhakha Tulku Rinpoche.
In the short time since Rinpoche has arrived in Santa Barbara, he has relocated Tulku Orgyen P'huntsok to Santa Barbara. Tulku Orgyen P'huntsok completed his Khenpo shedra studies in southern India at H.H. Penor Rinpoche's monastery. Tulku Orgyen will be teaching Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan language classes and leading pujas when Bhakha Rinpoche travels. Sonam Lama, with in depth training from H.H. Penor Rinpoche's monastery in southern India and three years of ritual training in Tibet, has been appointed Vairotsana Foundation's Ritual Master.
