Satdharma of Ojai
Satdharma is the organization that contains the Karma Kagyü lineage
stream
of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism from Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, through his
Vajra Regent, Ösel Tendzin. The current lineage holder is Patrick Sweeney,
who resides and teaches in Ojai, California. Satdharma offers ongoing
Buddhist courses, Shambhala Education, meditation instruction, yoga
instruction, residential retreats, and many opportunities for community
practice and study.
The Ojai Valley Dharma Center and the Gekko Kyudojo are contemplative
centers operating under the Satdharma umbrella and provide many opportunites
for practice and study within the buddhist and Shambhala teachings. Both are
located
in Ojai, California, 90 minutes north of Los Angeles. The Dharma Center offers
weekend intensives, weekly public classes, urban retreats, Shambhala Education
weekends, meditation instruction, weekly practice opportunities, and hatha yoga.
The Gekko Kyudojo is dedicated to the practice and study of Kyudo, a traditional
form of Zen archery.
