For Your Best, Healthy Image...
Harness the power of a health system that combines the quiet wisdom of the ancients with exciting breakthroughs of modern science.
Inner health and well-being play an
important role in creating your best image. Because your physical
health affects your mental and emotional states, all three areas
(mental, emotional and physical) should be in balance.
Not only do you feel better when your body is in balance, you
project an image of one who is in harmony with nature. NEWAYS has
taken a balanced approach in developing a philosophy of health
creating the world's finest line of personal care products. We
began by researching the research.
In The Beginning.
Nature was designed in a
delicate balance for sustaining life. Every important nutrient
needed to support life comes from the earth. Man quickly learned
how to benefit from the herbs, fruits, vegetables, and animals
provided by Mother Nature.
As mankind became cultured, it developed more sophisticated
methods for survival. We began to lose sight of our alliance with
nature. Foods became increasingly more refined and processed with
the arrival of each new generation. Now, it seems that mankind
has developed an "immediate-gratification" attitude. We
live in a "give-it-to-me-quick" society. We have
forgotten the tradition of acquiring nature's basic, whole foods.
This tradition has been replaced by an ever-ready access to
"fast-foods" made of refined carbohydrates, fats, and
sugars. Today's increasing rate of serious health problems may
indicate that we're endangered by our own pattern of progress.
When will society reverse the pattern and return to a time when
it recognized its alliance with nature and make the most of
dietary elements?
If society could borrow knowledge from a civilization that its
interdependence with, what would it borrow?
What We Can Learn from the Hidden Wisdom of the Ancients
Hidden behind an "bamboo
curtain," there is a society that has maintained a
continuous history for more than 5,000 years. This society has
focused, first and foremost, on man's relationship with nature.
It began thousands of years ago by observing plants and animals
and has expanded on the belief that man is an interrelated part
of nature.
The study of Oriental history reveals a philosophy of health
and wisdom that flourished inside the Great Wall of China and is
now unfolding for the benefit of the entire world. These advanced
health practices are reaching all shores just as the world is
beginning to look for answers to its health needs. They come at a
time when they have the most potential to change the world,
creating opportunities for increased health, beauty, and economic
growth.
The Eastern Heritage
In the royal palaces of Chinese
emperors, appointed court physicians conducted careful research
and created herbal formulas intended to protect the health and
improve the lives of royal family members.
Around 3,000 B.C., all available human health studies were
brought together and compiled for future research. These records
were passed on from dynasty to dynasty. The information was
further organized and cataloged during the Ming Dynasty.
This great medical library became a prized possession of the
emperor and his family. The second emperor of the Ming Dynasty,
Ming Cheng Zu was so enamored with the formulas for life
exhancement that a copy of the royal medical encyclopedia was
interred with him upon his death.
Ming Cheng Zu's order was obeyed. His subjects buried one copy
of the formulas kept in the Imperial hospital and pharmacy for
the exclusive use of royal families.
During the century of chaos and the Boxer Rebellion of the
1900's, the medical records were thought to have been destroyed.
Though many have recreated some of the ancient knowledge, the
full scope of Oriental herbal studies, including the Emperors'
Imperial formulas, have not been available to the world.
A Priceless Discovery
When Chinese officials realized the loss the
century of chaos had inflicted upon its history and culture, they
searched throughout the country for copies of the Imperial
formulas.
The years after this loss were punctuated with unsubstantiated
claims that the original formulas had been discovered elsewhere.
These claims proved to be false. Attempts to copy the Imperial
formulas were marginally successful.
Fortunately for the Chinese and the rest of the world, Ming
Cheng Zu's zeal for perfect health and prolonged life prepared a
way for the restoration of the Imperial formulas. When the
emperor had copies of the formulas interred in his mausoleum,
they were to provide good health and vitality for him in the
spirit world. Ironically, his orders would eventually benefit the
living, not the dead. After the century of chaos and its
devastating losses, Ming Cheng Zu's burial site was properly
unearthed by archeologists in the 20th century. Laying before
them was a great discovery for the Chinese heritage.
Manuscripts describing the Imperial formulas in great detail
were found among the other "baggage" of Ming Cheng Zu's
spiritual journey. However, before the Chinese could reclaim a
lost national treasure, they had to confirm the authenticity of
the manuscripts.
Authenticated and Validated
This treasure of effective
nutritional formulas was authenticated when the Chinese
government sorted through the manuscripts. They determined that
the medical records discovered were indeed compiled during the
Ming Dynasty.
The manuscripts allowed researchers a rare glimpse of Ming
science. The Medical and Herbal Research Departments of China
performed an exhaustive analysis of these ancient manuscripts and
found that the Ming herbalists used several research procedures
commonly used in today's modern research facilities.
This evidence strongly suggests that the Ming herbalists could
achieve excellent results in their quest for health-promoting
formulas.
Archeologists also found that many herbal formulas were being
used in China even before the discovery of Ming Cheng Zu's
mausoleum. However, some of the actual Ming Imperial formulations
were not.
This lack of a connection between existing
formulas and the Ming formulas validated claims of secrecy
associated with their original use. After examining these
original manuscripts with a series of tests undertaken by the
Chinese government, NEWAYS has secured marketing rights for more
than 1,200 Imperial formulas found in the Ming documents.
Brilliant scientists have taken this wealth of research and
expanded upon the original philosophies, adding new insight and
depth.
Additional finds reveal the majesty of China's ancient past
Other discoveries, just as spectacular
and beneficial as the restoration of the Ming formulas, have
captured the attention of the world. In 1974, Chinese workers
digging a well unearthed a part of Ch'in Dynasty Emperor Ch'in
Shih Huang Ti's burial grounds.
Archeologists exposed 6,000 life-size, clay soldiers with
authentic armor, weapons of war, and horses complete with
chariots. As described in "China's Incredible Find," an
article in the April 1978 edition of National Geographic, the
"spirit army" of Ch'in Shih Huang Ti was lavishly
prepared to march into battle. According to the ancient legends,
the army was equipped to fight evil spirits that might prevent
the Emperor's ascension into heaven. This remnant of China's past
is truly a monument to an industrious, hard-working people whose
accomplishments rival the achievements of any European or Western
civilization. While the Roman Empire was expanding in the West,
this royal king of the East had created the heart of the Chinese
nation.
Setting precedence for centuries of dynasties
to follow, the Ch'in Dynasty placed passionate emphasis on the
search for herbal formulas that would enhance one's health and
prolong life.
The Ming formulas, likewise, are the treasured result of
centuries of research.
