The Imperial Legacy: The Ming
Dynasty Formulations
Life-enhancing and optimum-health formulas
The Ming Dynasty Ruled China for nearly 300
years. It was the most magnificent period of cultural renaissance
in Oriental history. "Ming" means bright in Chinese,
and this era truly shed a brilliant light of discovery and
knowledge on a country tarnished by conflict. Ming rulers
restored traditional institutions, such as the civil service,
which had been suspended by previous rulers. Ming architects
built the majestic Imperial Palace in Beijing. Ming artisans
created beautiful, intricate porcelain, bronze, and lacquerware.
During this period of expansion, western traders, and
Christian missionaries came to China for the first time. At one
point during the Ming Dynasty, Chinese authority extended into
Mongolia, Korea, Southeast Asia, and the Ryukya Islands.
Even as this time of tremendous progress and
enlightenment was producing some of history's greatest treasures,
the Chinese continued to protect and revere the traditions and
discoveries of their past.
One of the most prized possessions of the royal family was
their extensive medical library, which contained their vast
encyclopedias of medical knowledge. Countless manuscripts of
Chinese health studies were gathered together and passed on from
dynasty to dynasty.
In the 20th century, when the burial complex of
Emperor Ming Cheng Zu was unearthed and these priceless
manuscripts and medical pharmacopoeia were rediscovered, the
opportunity existed again for mankind to benefit from thousands
of years of precise medical research.
Now, NEWAYS brings these valued herbal formulas to you.
Life-enhancing and optimum-health formulas that were lost for
centuries are now being meticulously studied and carefully
reproduced with the benefits of modern technology. The rich,
herbal tradition of the Ming dynasty is now yours.
Body Energy - "Chi"
For thousands of years, the
Chinese have recognized and studied an invisible, human-energy
force, which they call "Chi." They considered this
energy to be as important to bodily health as more tangible
systems, such as the respiratory and/or immune systems.
Other cultures have identified this electrical field as well,
calling it "aura" or "life-force." Centuries
after the Chinese discoveries, Western science is using terms
such as "bioelectricity" and "biomagnetism,"
to validate what the Chinese have known for years. Despite
differences in terminology, a consensus has formed: the human
body has an electrical energy field that is related to our state
of health.
According to Chinese studies conducted over the centuries,
these electrical currents pass through the body using specific
energy "pathways." The Chinese developed a precise
science called acupuncture, which uses these pathways to regulate
the body's health.
Doctors of acupuncture use ultra-fine needles to stimulate
energy pathways in the body at specific points along the pathway.
In this manner, Chinese practitioners use the body's energy force
to bring the body back into balance and avoid conditions of
disease.
Today, science has extended the use of body electricity to
include electronic-diagnostic devices, such as the EKG, EMG, and
biofeedback machines. Now scientists can measure the electronic
impulses created within the body in response to stressors.
Studies confirm that everything you come into contact with has
an energy force of its own: the foods you eat, the environment
you live in, even other people around you. Your body energy
reacts to the energies it comes into contact with every moment of
every day.
The Oldest Herbal and Medical History
China has the oldest
continuously recorded culture on earth, with records dating from
the second millennium B.C. The first dynasty, the Shang Dynasty,
began around 1766 B.C., with dynasties continuing intermittently
up until modern times. There have been twelve major dynasties and
many lesser dynasties and kingdoms. Throughout this extensive
period of time, Chinese healers developed and improved upon many
remedies. They kept detailed records and passed them down from
generation to generation.
One significant dynasty was the Ch'in Dynasty. During this
era, China was united under a strong central government. The
Ch'in Dynasty standardized weights and measures, developed a
system of writing, and compiled medical and herbal remedies into
a uniform and centralized system.
The Ming Dynasty was the most wealthy of all
the dynasties. During the Ming reign, remedies and formulations
were refined to their highest levels. It was during the Ming
Dynasty that Life Enhancer was revised and tested extensively.
Revisions, tests, and improvements had taken place for thousands
of years, but during the Ming Dynasty the ancient remedy was
thought to be refined to the point of maximum effect. It was
included with the 1,200 formulations interred in the mausoleum of
Emperor Ming Cheng Zu.
Compounded from pure whole food extracts of Chinese herbs,
Life Enhancer was considered perhaps the most important
formulation of the Ming Dynasty's Yong Lee Imperial Hospital.
Chinese pharmacologists and herbalogists conducted extensive
studies and meticulously recorded their findings in all fields of
natural health.
A brilliant Chinese herbalist, Li Shi Zhen, is credited with
the most extensive testing and improvement of the formulation. He
tested the formulations in varying amounts, strengths, and
combinations until a final blend yielded the statistically
highest effect possible.
Life Enhancer was produced in the Imperial
center of the Yong Lee Imperial Hospital in Beijing. The reason
for this value is thought to be connected to the sociological
beliefs of that period.
Emperors were believed to have zealously sought and guarded
formulations that would enrich their bodies. Many formulas were
most probably used only by the royal families and select ruling
classes. With population needs exceeding what the agricultural
base could deliver, and famine and drought often devastating the
country, any factor that would extend the life expectancy of the
general population was thought to be undesirable.
Today's Technical Testing
The Research Department of
traditional Chinese herbs and medicine of China has analyzed the
medical records retrieved from the Imperial Mausoleums. The
ancient Chinese herbalists kept very detailed records of their
testing. Although the manuscripts contained thousands of years
worth of testing, the records were carefully compiled and could
be easily sorted and evaluated. The examination of these records
showed that the herbalists used scientific methods of testing
very similar to those used in modern medical research.
They conducted very controlled tests including the accepted
double-blind standards used today in product-approval studies.
In testing these formulas, researchers added, deleted, or
changed the proportions of some ingredients specified. With some
formulas, modern science could improve the results, but for
others, any changes in the formulations resulted in inferior
results. Further testing made it clear that the instructions of
the original, ancient formulations needed to be strictly followed
for maximum effectiveness.
Counterfeit Formulations
There have been counterfeit formulations circulating throughout China and Taiwan claiming to promote benefits that have been attributed to the exciting effects of Life Enhancer and Emperor's Formula. Certain manufacturers claimed to have ancient formulas and promoted them as such, but once the ancient record was found it was clear they did not. None contained the essential balance of herbs specified in the original documents.
More Testing, More Results
Today modern Chinese researchers have conducted a great number of scientific tests and have proven that in addition to enhancing the nutritional biological factors that effect youth, vigor and health, the Chinese formulas can encourage a releasing effect nourishing the body's ability to eliminate many pollutants that build up and accumulate during a lifetime. These accumulations could block cellular functions and inhibit body systems from performing at a level of maximum efficiency.
Benefits of Eastern Culture
The wisdom of the royal physicians of
the Orient to record and preserve their research has allowed
modern science to inherit their documents of health
experimentation and plant formulation. Once lost to the world,
the highly sought-after and often-imitated formulas have been
recovered and proven to be of significant worth.
Now you can benefit from the richest and most effective
Oriental plants cultivated in the Eastern hemisphere. You too can
work to create balance in the body as you enjoy the most exotic
formulations of the Orient, modern science, and the Emperors.
Projecting Inner "Chi"
The ancient Chinese believed that the "Chi" or "life force" provides a vital connection between living people, plants and animals. Today you can tap into that energy that exists in living things, renewing, replenishing, and regenerating. You can use the restorative powers of nature to help you create an optimum way of life and project an image of complete health and a deep-seated sense of well-being.
