Project Manager – Public Safety RF
& Telecom Networks
Our client has an immediate opening in their Dallas, Texas offices for a Project
Manager whose primary responsibilities include:

Providing life-cycle project management to Government and
Public Safety customers,
·
Developing and maintaining multiple integrated projects
schedules,
·
Developing project plans,
·
Preparing status briefings,
·
Tracking metrics,
·
Performing detailed analyses from program data;
·
Recommending solutions to customers,
·
Facilitating meetings and teleconferences to track and
resolve telecommunications installation issues,
·
Ensuring quality assurance processes are followed from the
commencement of a project to its conclusion, and
·
Working closely with departmental managers and sales,
marketing, and R&D staff.
The Project Manager is responsible for the
successful achievement of the project under its technical, schedule,
performance, quality, financial and contractual
aspects to the customer’s satisfaction. Responsible for the evaluation,
selection and management of subcontracted resources to achieve project
objectives.
Additional
experience and attributes of the ideal candidate include:
- Writing and
implementing master project plans using automated project management
tools, processes and procedures.
- Developing
and maintaining multiple integrated project schedules.
- Elaborating
and updating Project Management Plans (PMP).
- Defining
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Leading a
project team according to a defined process and based on Earnings at
Completion EACO), including providing
direction and regular feedback to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Preparing
State-of-Work documents for subcontractors
- Measuring
the performance relating to achieving each set of goals.
- Serving as
primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and internal
staff for the project.
- Regularly
report to the customer status of project, including corrective plan, if
necessary.
- Leading
scheduling status reviews with team members to track current status
against planned progress.
- Performing
detailed analyses from program data and recommend solutions to
customers.
- Assessment
and coverage of the risks associated with a project.
- Alerting
management of any problem(s) which could severely or adversely affect
the project achievements; prepare plan of action to resolve issues.
- Initiating,
generating and maintaining the project budgets (labor and capital) and
financial objectives (turnover, margin and cash).
- Leading cost
status reviews with other team members to track current status against
planned progress.
- Delivery of
Earnings at Completion (EAC) and proposal for
optimization.
- Mandatory
qualifications:
- BSEE,
BSCS or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
- PMP
or Six Sigma certifications a plus
- Minimum of 5
years project management experience in a high tech environment,
preferably with Public Safety RF networks
- Minimum of 2
years technical planning experience in Public Safety wireless
environment.
- Broad
knowledge of Public Safety RF and Network communication products,
solutions and systems, especially 800-trunked and P25 technologies.
- Experience
working with Public Safety, military or government customers.
- Knowledge of
large system sales to local and federal government agencies.
- Proficient
with project management PC tools, preferably MS Project, Excel, Word.
- Excellent
presentation skills in technical and non-technical areas to board
audiences including executive management and/or customers.
- Ability to
build and lead a team with a common goal - to deliver a project within
schedule and budget with the highest level of quality possible.
- Excellent
communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to
travel 75% of the time, sometimes on short notice and for extended
periods.
Remuneration:
Up to $155K base plus
performance/incentive bonus.
