Senior Petroleum Geologist
Dallas, Texas
 
· We are currently searching for a Senior Geologist for our Dallas, Texas Headquarters. The position will report to the Manager of Geology for Mississippi and Alabama.
· The Senior Geologist will be responsible for work in the Production & Development division and be involved in the mapping of our dated oil fields, determining and deciphering old data and new data - making technically sound estimates of each territory. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in researching old (paper) data in addition to having familiarity with new technology.
· Our client is the largest oil and natural gas operator in Mississippi, owns the largest reserves of CO2 used for tertiary oil recovery east of the Mississippi River, and holds key operating acreage in onshore Louisiana, Alabama and Texas Barnett Shale areas.
· Moreover, our client increases the value of acquired properties in its core areas through a combination of exploitation drilling and proven engineering extraction practices.
 
Requisite Experience:
- Mapping and data management skills at the large field level
- Generate accurate work and be detailed oriented
- Integrate production and engineering data for CO2 flood analysis
- Work efficiently and meet project deadlines on multiple projects
- Recommend new drills and workovers
- Work effectively in a team environment with operations and reservoir engineers
 
Education and Experience level:
- Minimum BS degree in Geology
- 8+ years active exploitation (production geology) experience
 
Qualifications
- Gulf Coast experience a must
- Mississippi Interior Salt Basin experience a plus
- Proficient in Geographix (Geo-Atlas, Cross-Section, Prism and Well-Base)
- Ability to perform basic seismic interpretation in SMT highly desired
- Possess good analytical, communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills

- Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

- Willing to travel as needed

 
Remuneration:
A six-figure package plus performance bonus.
