As you can see, this
is one of the most
beautiful stretches of track
in
the world.
Mt.Shasta is the largest
"by volume"
Compound Strato Volcano of
the Cascade Range.
Mt. Rainier is taller but
it's base is at a higher
elevation than Mt.Shasta's
, perched atop
the older "Western Cascades"
mountains, which is an older
phase
of the range.
