You will notice that several pages from the TrinityCam INFOsite have been included in this site to give it content that it could not have on it's own. Like the Trinity County Tourism and Event Calendar, provided free of charge in cooperation with the Trinity County Chamber of Commerce.
The TrinityCam INFOsite has always included information from all of Trinity County from Coffee Creek to Mad River in it's coverage. . The TrinityCam's free BUSINESS DIRECTORY, the County's largest, provides name and telephone numbers for contact.
These website projects have always been done almost entirely without compensation, mostly because the bookeeping and web design costs alone would never be self-supporting., but the need for them is essetial to the growth and promotion of our county economy.
Most websites of this type are usually funded in a healthy economy by combinations of Successful large business, and community groups with the informational updating, construction, up/down loading, and other functions done by paid employees/contractors.
WE DO NOT HAVE A HEALTHY LOCAL ECONOMY, OR ANY LARGE BUSINESS OR COMMUNITY GROUPS THAT HAVE SHOWN THE SLIGHTEST INTEREST IN PROVIDING OR FUNDING THIS OR ANY SIMILAR INFORMATIONAL AND PROMOTIONAL WEBSITES.
The reality in Trinity County is that the financial crisis in our local government, and the less than robust business community and economy does not allow the atmosphere to fund a site like this to prosper. So.. It is being paid for by an individual, much like the Baseball Field in the Cornfield... he hopes that if he builds it...they (advertisers) to support it will come. If not, it will be here for the tourists, and local folks alike as long as he can manage it!.
Since 1993, through a modest effort on AOL, The Trinity Info Pages (obsorbed into TrinityCam INFOsite in 2000), has grown into the current TrinityCam INFOsite, starting in 1999, with thousands of hours of work through the years!. Presently,(2006), 4-6 hours a day, 7 days a week are spent on this and similar projects.
These websites provide a great service to people near and far, and undoubtedly contributes in a positive way to the economic prosperity, and quality of life for the people of Trinity.County and the thousands of folks that visit our area. One thing it certainly does is contribute to the MONEY returned to the County of Trinity by the Board of Equalization each year as their share of taxible sales inside Trinity County. This goes to the Trinity County General Fund, and supports local government. OK... Why are you doing this again?....The goal is pretty simple, to provide a website that will support tourism, local business and community service activities. It will take a while to develop original content for the Trinity Lake Area Recreation Guide and Business Directory...send your ideas.
The webmaster will seek input from local groups and individuals and see what content can be beneficial to the communities. You will see INFOpages, like the one recently started for the Scott Museum or perhaps later, free webpages like the Highland Art Center as examples of community service.
Finally, I wish I could tell you that doing several of these informational websites means that quanity changes the bottom line.. it does not. With some luck, some advertising support, cooperative webcams, web design projects, domain registrations, webpages and websites will help them all to continue..
