Public Meetings: Iron Complex: A community meeting is scheduled in Junction City at 7:00 p.m. tonight, July 30, at the Junction City School. Fire officials will provide information on the current fire situation.
The mandatory evacuation order has been lifted for Corral Bottom and Haglund Ranch. The Trinity County Sheriff’s Department mandatory evacuation order for the Hidden Valley area (off State Route 36 near Mad River) remains in effect.
The Hyampom Road (County Road 301) remains closed, until further notice, from approximately three miles west of the junction with Highway 3 to approximately two miles east of the junction with Forest Road 10. The alternative travel route is Forest Road 10. For maps and detailed information about closure areas on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, consult the Forest website at http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/shastatrinity/ conditions and click on Forest Closure Information.
Closures include: the South Fork Management Unit; Canyon Creek Trailhead; Dry Creek Trail; Forest Road 60 from Hyampom to Burnt Ranch, Shasta Campground; and the Iron Complex Fire Closure Area for National Forest lands south of Highway 299. On the Six Rivers National Forest, the Hells Half Fire Area Closure remains in effect. The Yolla Bolly-Middle Eel Wilderness, which spans into the Six Rivers, Shasta-Trinity, and Mendocino National Forests, is closed.
Caltrans, CAL FIRE and The California Highway Patrol warn motorists of the high fire danger along roadsides. The extremely dry vegetation makes it easy to ignite roadside fires. Motorists are encouraged to follow these fire prevention guidelines; Keep your car in sound mechanical condition, assuring there are no parts hanging or dragging underneath the vehicle that may cause sparks. Do not throw burning cigarettes or matches from a moving vehicle. When towing a trailer, ensure that the safety chains are properly installed and not dragging on the roadway. Do not pull off the roadway into high grasses; hot catalytic converters can ignite the dry grass.

Hyampom Road Closure Update
The Hyampom Road, Trinity County 301, will be under a 24 hour per day closure to all public traffic from approximately three miles west of the junction with Highway 3 to the junction with Forest Road 10. The alternative travel route is the Forest Road 10.
The fire activity from the Miners Fire continues to threaten portions of the road and there is heavy traffic of fire fighting equipment and manpower along and adjacent to the road. The primary concern continues to be public and firefighter safety.
At this time the current road construction project will continue with very close coordination with the Southwest Incident Command Team managing the fires in the Lime Complex. Because of the limited number of workers and the ability to communicate directly with them it is believed they can safely continue work on this important project.
The fire situation will be continually monitored and if conditions warrant workers will be removed.
v A public meeting was held last evening in Hayfork, and was well attended by approximately 100 local residents. Fire officials briefed the attendees on the Lime Complex, concentrating on the Miners Fire and the potential threat to the community of Hayfork.

Junction City Community Meeting Tonight
JUNCTION CITY, Calif…A public town meeting will be held tonight, Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 7:00 PM at the Junction City Elementary School in Junction City. Fire officials from the Iron Complex will provide information on the current fire situation.
The Trinity County Sheriff's Department changed the evacuation status of certain areas due to the Eagle Fire in the Iron Complex. The following areas in Junction City are now under voluntary evacuation: Coopers Bar Estates, Red Hill Road, Dutch Creek Road, Evans Bar and Soldier Creek. The evacuation status of other areas in the Iron Complex remains unchanged.
Today, fire crews discovered that a portion of the Eagle Fire on the eastern side of the fire, crossed the control lines fire fighters had been working on for the past week. This area of the fire is currently burning slowly downhill from the top of McKinney Gulch in a steep area where fire crews are not able to safely construct line.
Fire managers will construct fire line south from Drop Point 32 in the vicinity of Conner Creek to the toe of the slope then through Hocker and Benjamin Flats, then south through McKinney Gulch and west up the ridge to the existing dozer line paralleling the 33N19 Road. The new line construction and burnout will start today and should take two days to complete.
The fire crossed the line approximately two miles south of where today’s burnout operations were taking place and was not related to the fire suppression activities.
Fire officials will provide additional information at the public meeting this evening.
