PURCHASING A MEDICAL ALERT or SECURITY SYSTEM
These systems generally do not work 100% of the time, and are not a substitute for 24hr medical healthcare. CA Department of Consumer Affairs does not require a license to sell medical alarms, or self-install do-it-yourself Security Systems.
Some Emergency Medical Responders, Fire Departments, Towns, Cities, Counties and Special Districts may have guidelines, requirements that include non-response due to improper use, and financial penalties related to the use of these systems.
Accidental or inappropriate use of this equipment violates all Trinity Alarm contracts, and may result in discontinued dispatch of a monitored system, with continued requirement to pay for the system.
Trinity County, California has very limited EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement and Health resources. Response time to calls for service will vary as to location and resources availiable.
Remember...the improper use of medical and other types of alarms can result in the diversion of life sustaining services away from people that may actually need it.
It is often a good idea to consult with your healthcare professionals, local EMS, Fire Department or Public Safety Agency that may be involved with the response to your call for emergency service. The may be able to answer any questions about their use in your area before purchasing or leasing any emergency medical or security alarm device.
