I just discovered somewhere in my family history Abner Weed is a distant relative. I have never been to Weed, CA but now I intend to make a visit to check out the town, can not wait to learn more about Abner and his family.

I was born and raised in Weed. My brother still lives there. Reading the comments posted in the guestbook brings back memories of a wonderful childhood. Great people living in a magnificant setting. My great grandfather, Abner Weed made a wise choice when he settled there! Thanks to the wonderful people who gave me an opportunity to reminisce in such a colorful way.

We moved from Weed when I was 16 and having lived there for 13 years of them it was very hard for me to have to move. I still miss the taste of the water. It was a wonderful place to have grown up in and I'm glad that I was given the opportunity. The Website is geat!--Heather-- What a fun website to find! Right before I moved to Weed I got my first visual of the town in a paint advertisement in an issue of Sunset magazine that showed all these wonderful store fronts all spruced up. I was instantly impressed, but not as impressed as when I drove down I-5 and first saw Mt. Shasta and all the surrounding countryside. Weed holds some very nice memories for me...I have seen the museum and was very impressed...Linda

Hi Sam !...Have not forgotten our great logging/railroad conversation. We will bring the old pictures and family history that we have, down to that wonderful museum SOON. OH...the old "team" picture is a football team. wide stripe tops. 22 players ,the coach and 5 footballs ! Mt. Shasta in the back ground. Has to be very early 20's. Hope someone will have some information. Weed is doing a great "restoration" job....Keep it up !

I visited the Museum last summer (2001), but have not had the chance to say thanks. It's a fantastic place, and I especially want to thank Sam Catalano for an excellent tour and fascinating commentary. It really made things come alive. Thanks again, geoff

I spent the first twenty-one years of my life in Weed before moving away to college and then my career. Four generations of my family, including my grandparents (Robert & Mary Mallory) have made their homes in Weed. What a wonderful place. Pristine mountains, great college, nice people, and clean water! The museum is truly a treasure as well. - Ryan R. Mallory, VP Operations - Internet Ventures, Inc.

I used to be the Tres. for several years, and enjoyed keeping the books, last in 1999. I love the winters in Weed. The snow makes the City so clean crisp and white. I've lived here since 1946, when my husband, Robert H. Mallory was discharged from the Navy. I plan to stay here until my daughter and her family drag me kicking and screaming to Medford,OR.

An E-mail guest. Abner Weed was my great uncle-- brother of my grandmother. I had heard from my father about Uncle Abner founding the town of Weed. I live a few miles fromthe Weed homestead and the cemetery where his parents are buried. There are several Weeds still in this area of Maine. A "thank you" to the Weed Chamber for giving me the address of a relative in that area. Julia Craigs. 3/13/2001

I am a guest, via E-Mail, of Lawrence Coleman. We were shipmates on the USS Redfin SS272, and have enjoyed a great reunion via email. This site is very interesting and a pleasure to visit. It is wonderful of your town to make its beauty available to those of us who may never have a chance to visit in person. Thank you for inviting me, Ted Breisch
