Carol
In loving memory
Your wine was fine, how it made you shine, the best with the moves, I wish they were mine. I can't tell you what I would, now your gone. But I still feel the heat, from the music, oh so sweet. When I see you again, it will all be new, your telling me don't cry babe, stand tall, and I'm telling you, you were the tallest of them all. Where should I go or what can I do. If you could only stay I swear I'd do them all with you. You say it's time for a change, and you have to say goodbye. I know it's good, you will do what is best. So take it all and I will too. We said we would and we did it just our way, but tomorrow is coming and now I have to go. So you take your shine and leave me the glow.
This is the first poem that I ever wrote. My girlfriend was killed by a drunk driver and the pain was unbearable for me. In the screaming noise of my grief, my spirit reached in to the silence of expression. Her death was the birth of my creativity. If there really is a rock & roll heaven I'm sure that Carol is saving me a front row seat.
