After years of romance
and searching for love
I'm now with the feeling
I've reached far above,

needing to find 
a someone who
will love me forever
what ever we do,

instead I've opted 
to stay unattached, not
encumbered by love
or two souls that matched,

I don't have to think
what he wants to do,
or worse than that
what he wants me to.

No, I'm not afraid 
to enter a room
nor wear what I want
or pick roses in bloom,

there's no one to tell me
that I'm dumber than he
so his ego can rise
and seem better than me,

I'm free to reach 
after a long wanted dream
and no one can tell me
I can't till I scream!

No one can look at me
and want someone better,
thinking me worthy of
a breaking up letter,

No one can walk right
out the front door,
to another's arms
as I fall to the floor.

No, no one can
do me wrong anymore,
and I'm free to learn,
love, grow and soar,

into my dreams, and 
all I desire,
for no one's here to harness
this spirit on fire.
