Elusive as the Wind
As I grasp the wind to test its strength,
so do I grasp in vain to hold onto your love.
As with the wind, I feel your love surround me,
and as with the wind, I breathe it in.
I breathe in deep and long this wind,
to give me life, so as with your love.
Yet it evades me, I yearn to own it,
call it my own. But nature holds fast to its laws.
For a love nor a wind can I claim as mine,
I'm left with one expression, one action
with both, I can only breathe back out,
and return what was given
