Give Me A Dream
Give me a dream so very true,
a dream to make my heart a new,
show me pictures ever more
of beauty and peace, and all I adore.
Give me this dream
so sparkling bright,
that it carries me through
the darkest night.
A dream I can live,
one I can acheive,
one that's not
very hard to believe.
No wait, I have
a dream or two
from long ago
when they were new.
I've waited so long
for them to come true
that nothing about them
at all feels new.
In fact they are
so very old,
that their not coming true
seems bitter cold.
For the life of my dreams
have drained from me,
for all of them I
shall not see.
But still I can not
let them go,
so much a part
of all I know.
For everything
I've come to be,
has grown from the dreams
that live in me.
