BIOGRAPHY: 1716 May 27 : Quhilk day John NAPIER compeared and was interrogated whether ' he owned his guilt of drunkeness and swearing ...' answered that he did. He was rebuked before the Session and promised that he would guard against all such evils for the future.

He owned his going to Glasgow about necessary business and promised to guard against the like again . John FORRESTER younger in the Town of Kilsyth was then interrogated and ' owned his carrying in meal to Glasgow mercat accroding to his promise to the Owner thereof....'. He promised to guard against the like in time to come. John NAPIER was summoned, called , compeared and interrogated about the same matter. He answered to the same effect . The others were called in to the meeting and they were all Sessionally rebuked and exhorted to guard against the like in time coming which they promised to do and were dismissed
