BIOGRAPHY: Born in Bainsford, Falkirk 1886 not far from the Carron Iron works,John became headmaster at Glenzier School, Canonbie, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Served with the Royal Scots from 1915-1916 and then as a 2nd Lt with The Kings own Scottish Borderers from Nov 1916-Apr 1917 when he died of wounds at Arras in France. His name can be found on the Senitaph at Banton Church, Kilsyth, Scotland and listed in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission database.
